Harford County Education Foundation is proud to announce that it has received a generous $10,000 Giving Tuesday gift from Har-co Credit Union, marking a powerful investment in Harford County’s future. This contribution will directly support teachers across Harford County Public Schools by expanding meaningful learning opportunities for students.
“I am thrilled that Har-co can support the Education Foundation through these grants, helping to empower teachers and unlock every child’s potential,” said Erin McComas, Director of Member Experience and Engagement. “As a parent of a Harford County Public School student, I am excited we could team up with Harford County Education Foundation to bring the Building Bright Minds Grants to life for our teachers.”
The donation funds the Har-co Credit Union Building Bright Minds Grant, which will allow seven Harford County Public Schools educators to bring innovative, out-of-the-box learning experiences to their classrooms. These grants enable teachers to spark curiosity, inspire creativity, and deliver hands-on enrichment that strengthens student learning in impactful ways.
“We are excited to partner with Har-co Credit Union to enhance our grant program and support more students with enriched learning opportunities,” said Debora Gavin Merlock, President of Harford County Education Foundation. “Many students lack access to enriching learning experiences due to limited resources at home and in their communities, making this program essential in expanding their opportunities to learn and thrive. Har-co Credit Union’s generous support allows educators to bring their ideas to life and helps unlock every child’s potential.”
Funding from the Building Bright Minds Grant will support the following Harford County Public Schools projects:
Edgewood Elementary School – Community Garden
Edgewood Middle School – The RAMpage Readers Club
Forest Hill Elementary School – Empowering Retriever Leaders
George D. Lisby Elementary School at Hillsdale – The HoverCraft Project
